Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Training and Credentials
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology in October of 1993 from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Since 1995, I have been self-employed in private practice. My training as a clinical psychologist in the field of psychology and mental health treatment dates back 35 years.
A partial list of my early training would include:
Crisis counselor and special education teacher in Boston, MA.
Psychology staff intern at the veterans hospital in Washington.
School psychologist in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, DC.
Consultant to G.E.D. Testing Services in Washington, DC
Diagnostician/Consultant to the District of Columbia State Adult Basic Education Office
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I am a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in the Dupont Circle section of Washington, D.C. since 1995. As a District of Columbia Licensed Psychologist (#1804) I am able to provide therapy services to clients and provide them with ‘third party’ reimbursable documentation to submit to their insurance carrier. Through obtaining and maintaining my professional license, I demonstrate to my clients that I have received (and continue to receive) a high degree of training and education. In order to maintain my status as a licensed psychologist in the District, I am required by law to earn Continuing Education Credits through various programs of study, two of which must include an Ethics Course and a Cultural Competence Course. Over the past 20 years, I have had extensive training, supervision, and education to hone my craft and art as a therapist. I routinely spend about three weeks a year in deeply personal training well beyond the minimal hours set by the licensing board of my District. I do so with dual intention of working more effectively with those whom I see in psychotherapy as well as to continue my own development and maturation.
Professional Memberships I hold active memberships in the following professional organizations:
American Academy of Psychotherapists – 1997 – Present
American Psychological Association – 1986 – Present
American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors & Therapists – 2010-Present
